Vicki Mabrey is an American journalist and television news anchor. She is best known for her work as a correspondent for CBS News and ABC News. She has also worked as a news anchor for WCBS-TV in New York City and WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. Mabrey was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1978 with a degree in journalism. She began her career as a reporter for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri, before moving to WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. in 1981. She then moved to WCBS-TV in New York City in 1984, where she worked as a news anchor until 1989. In 1989, Mabrey joined CBS News as a correspondent, where she covered a variety of stories, including the Persian Gulf War, the Oklahoma City bombing, and the O.J. Simpson trial. She left CBS in 1997 and joined ABC News as a correspondent, where she covered the 2000 presidential election and the September 11th attacks. Mabrey left ABC News in 2002 and returned to WCBS-TV as a news anchor. She left WCBS-TV in 2006 and has since worked as a freelance journalist.
